Access Wireless

Access Wireless is an i-Wireless company that provides free government-supported cell phones through the Lifeline Assistance Plan. Like the i-Wireless company, it is also affiliated with Kroger stores. Started in 2011, it has a presence in several states and is in the process of expanding. Access Wireless is distinguishing itself by offering benefits through its partnerships that we have not seen from any other Lifeline Carrier thus far. The company even offers the opportunity for customers to earn free minutes, just by doing something they need to do anyway. Their partnerships, upgrade program and top up bonuses make

The company currently offers free phones in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas,  Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia,  Washington and West Virginia. When the company expands, we’ll be sure to update this information. Their partnerships, upgrade program and top up bonuses make them a program to seriously consider when looking for a phone.

Access Wireless, through their partnership with i-Wireless, offers phone upgrades that are very affordable. There are basic phones that are available starting at $19.99 like the Samsung Seek.  Of particular notice is their Affordable Android section, where they have 6 new Android phones for $49.99, such as the LG Optimus. For extra savings, customers may choose to purchase a refurbished version of the same phones, which start at $39.99. These prices put smart phone use within the reach of most people.

Access Wireless Top Up

Access Wireless allows top ups in three denominations: $10, $25 & $50. However, adding money to your account brings bonuses, like data and unlimited texts.  The benefits are different with each top up:

  • $10 – 150 additional anytime minutes, plus unlimited texting for 10 days and 100MB of data.
  • $25 – 200 additional anytime minutes, plus unlimited texting for 30 days and 500MB of data.
  • $50 – Unlimited anytime minutes, plus unlimited texting for 30 days and 1GB of data.

Unused plan minutes are rolled over to the next month, as long as a customer had added at least $10 to his or her account in the previous 60 days or has earned a ‘free minutes’ award through their partnership with Kroger Co. (see below).

Free Minutes with Access Wireless

The company makes it easy to earn free minutes. You don’t have to find people to refer to get the free minutes, but do something we all need to do: buy groceries! You may earn free minutes on your Access Wireless phone just by shopping at Kroger’s or any of their affiliated stores like Ralphs, Baker’s, Dillions,  Smith’s Food and Drug stores and others. For every $100 you spend on qualifying purchases, you will receive 20 free minutes! The even better news is that purchases made with Food Stamps may also apply for the promotion.
