Eligibility Requirements

There are TWO ways of qualifying for a Safelink Wireless Phone in Arkansas. You only need to qualify under one way to be eligible for a free phone.

Participation in a Governmental Assistance Program

You may qualify for a free Safelink phone in Arkansas if you participate in any of the following assistance programs:

  • Federal Public Housing Assistance (Section 8)
  • Medicaid
  • Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
  • National School Lunch Program’s (Free Lunch program)
  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Food Stamps
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
  • Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)

Due to changes in the Lifeline Assistance Program, Safelink now requires proof of participation in a qualifying program.

Income-Based Eligibility

You may qualify for a Safelink phone in Arkansas if your household income is less than 135% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. If your income falls below the level in the chart below, it s likely you are eligible for free service from Safelink.
