Safelink Wireless Florida

Safelink Wireless offers free service to the residents of Florida . If you qualify, you may receive a free phone and free monthly minutes from the largest and oldest provider of free government cell phones in America. Safelink offers 3 different monthly minute plans for their customers and the best international long-distance plan on any of the major Lifeline providers. Eligibility Requirements

There are TWO ways of qualifying for a Safelink Wireless Phone in Florida . You only need to qualify under one way to be eligible for a free phone.

Participation in a Governmental Assistance Program

You may qualify for a free Safelink phone in Florida if you participate in any of the following assistance programs:

  • Federal Public Housing Assistance (Section 8)
  • Medicaid
  • Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
  • National School Lunch Program’s (Free Lunch program)
  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Food Stamps
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
  • Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)

Due to changes in the Lifeline Assistance Program, Safelink now requires proof of participation in a qualifying program.

Income-Based Eligibility

You may also qualify under income eligibility guidelines. If your household income is less than 150% of the Federal poverty guidelines, you may qualify for a free phone in Florida. If your income falls below the level in the chart below, it is likely you qualify for a Safelink Wireless phone. Please note: resident of Florida who are applying on the basis of income level must have their income validated by the Florida Office of Public Council. They will contact you by letter. You must respond to their requests to receive your Safelink phone.
